Appointments
Appointments may be made by calling the office between 9:00
am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. We know you have many choices when choosing a Podiatrist in Charleston, SC, so we have made requesting an appointment a simple process via our Web site. If, for some reason,
you cannot keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed,
please call as soon as possible. When patient needs require
more than the allotted time, or when the doctor is delayed
in surgery our office will attempt to let you know of the delay;
so please be sure that our office has your current daytime
telephone number.
For the initial visit:

Please arrive 15 minutes before the visit time, so that you
may complete the paperwork prior to the doctor seeing you

Please bring a list of all of your medicines with you
- Bring your insurance cards
- Bring any forms records or x-rays that your referring physician
may have given you
For follow-up visits:

Bring a list of all current medication or changes
in the medications you are taking

Tell us if there has been a change in your general
health since you were last seen
For urgent or emergency visits:

Emergency and Urgent Visits can be made by calling the office.
During office hours every attempt will be made for you to
be seen during one of the special time slots that the office
keeps open just for emergencies and urgent visits. After
hours, if you need to contact the doctor, call the office
number, 571-0602. The answering service will notify the doctor
and he will return your call as soon as possible.
Referrals
The referral of patients, whether referred from a physician, or from other patients
is the highest compliment we can receive. If your physician referred you to Dr.
Tessler, a report of his findings and treatment recommendations, as well as pertinent
follow-up reports will be sent to your physician.
Insurance
Our office accepts a variety of different
HMO, PPO, and other health plans. Please call our office to
verify acceptance of your insurance carrier.
Fees
Our office charges for the examination and treatments rendered, and for supplies and orthopedic devices, orthotics, braces, and splints, that are dispensed. Payment is due when the service is rendered or the supplies and devices are dispensed. Any co-payments you may be responsible for must be paid at the time of the visit. The office may charge you a fee for for each billing of an outstanding balance after the first bill.
Most fees for blood tests, cultures, etc. are determined and billed through the laboratory that performs the tests. Fees for anesthesia services when provided by an anesthesiologist in the hospital or surgery center and when performed in the office, are determined and billed by the anesthesiologist providing the service.
Insurance will be filed for the primary policy only, unless we have a contract with the company providing the secondary insurance.
There is a fee charged for the completion of other medical or disability insurance forms. Please allow one week for the completion of forms. If you have any questions regarding the fees or insurance benefits for the services we render, please do not hesitate to let Dr. Tessler or his staff know.
